Great Fermentations

(ISBN 0 900841 69 9. Perfect bound paperback. 136pp 21cm. 75 illustrations.) Illustrated by the author. Published 1982 (The Amateur Winemaker Publications Ltd)

I was prompted to write this book in answer to friends bringing their winemaking problems to me on seeing the vast quantities of wine I have made. My approach to the hobby is informal and non-scientific; I make wine to enjoy rather than to win prizes!

The book includes amusing true experiences, tips and shortcuts, recipes for each season, and is spiced throughout with misquotes as well as cartoons.

"This book does not pretend to be a detailed instruction manual on how to make wine. It is rather the honest record of one enthusiastic hobbyist's very individual approach to the subject, and the methods and ideas she personally has found successful. Her cartoons lighten its tone agreeably; there is no doubt that anyone reading Great Fermentations can pick up a host of tips and have a chuckle in the process." C J J Berry
